San Francisco wild parrots - where & when?

Hi birders!

My dad is coming to visit San Francisco this weekend and wants to see the wild parrots of Telegraph Hill. I've never made much of an effort to find them since moving here, but I get the feeling they aren't always to be found right there (what wild bird is ever THAT predictable, after all?). I've heard they can be hanging out anywhere between Coit Tower and Embarcadero. Does anyone have a tip on the best place & best time of day to see the flock these days?

Thanks very much! :)

Coit Tower is a good bet.

There are actually a couple of different flocks. The ones of Telegraph Hill are the red-chevroned with a few blues thrown in for good measure (red marking on the top of their heads. There is also a band of yellow-chevroned that live over near Dolores Park. I've seen them fly over my apartment in the Lower Haight and at my boss' place in Pacific Heights. Birds get around. But the Telegraph Hill ones seem to flock close to home. Coit Tower is probably the best spot to find them.
