i heard on the news this morning while i was getting ready for work about a bald eagle that was shot back in november they found it about a week ago (i guess it froze over the winter) - it makes me so sad. on the other hand, i was driving to wwork a few days ago and i saw a redwinged black bird which along with all the canadian geese is a sure sign spring is here to stay! - oh yeah i live in upstate ny on the canadian border.

Thu, April 6, 2006 - 9:14 AMOf course here in the California San Francisco bay area, spring is in full-tilt.
The Red-winged Blackbird males are singing their brains out, flashing their red epaulets, and saying, "Come on babes! Look at me!!!"
I'm about to head over to the baylands to see if the egrets and night-herons are building nests yet. -

Re: yinyang
Fri, April 7, 2006 - 6:24 AMWent to the Palo Alto Baylands yesterday. Things aren't too active yet. I'd heard that all the rain we've gotten has delayed things by a couple of weeks, and it looks like it's true for the heron/egret nesting. There were a couple of Black-crowned Nightherons hauling in sticks for nests, but no other activity. Maybe in a week or two ...
